Marianthe Kolokithas elected Grand President!
On Saturday, July 23, 2011, the newly elected Grand Lodge of the Maids of Athena was installed by Past Grand President Kiki Amanatidis to help conclude the 89th Annual AHEPA Supreme Convention in Miami, Florida. Throughout the entire week, members of the Maids of Athena participated in many fun activities as well as legislative meetings that helped to bring the year to a close and to get the next year off to a good start.
Sister Marianthe Kolokithas of Pan Athenians Chapter 68 in Charleston, South Carolina, was elected by the convention delegation to serve as Maids of Athena Grand President for the 2011-2012 year. Sister Marianthe is bringing a lot to the table and will be representing the Junior Auxiliary Orders alongside Brother Manolis Sfinarolakis of Solon Chapter 61 in Waterbury, Connecticut, the newly elected Supreme President of the Sons of Pericles. Marianthe and Manolis will also be working closely with the newly elected AHEPA Supreme President, Dr. John Grossomanides, Jr., as well as the newly elected Daughters of Penelope Grand President, Nicky Stamoulis.
Also elected by the Maids of Athena Delegation in Miami was the 2011-2012 Grand Lodge. Sister Angela Armstrong of Dynami ke Doxa Chapter 270 in Chandler, Arizona will serve the Maids as Vice President. Sister Constantina Yannitsos of Cassandra Hera Chapter 185 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada will serve as Secretary. Sister Diane Simeon of Muses Chapter 22 of Washington, DC was elected to serve as Maids Grand Treasurer, and sister Deanna Socaris of Sophia 48 in Albany, New York, was elected to serve as this year's Grand Governor.
