The Maids of Athena Grand Lodge
The Maids of Athena Grand Lodge is made up of five exemplary Maids of Athena from across the continent. The Grand Lodge is led by the Grand President, who is the highest ranking member of the MOA. Her lodge consists of the Grand Vice President, Grand Secretary, Grand Treasurer, and Grand Governor. The Grand Advisor to the Maids of Athena is a member of the Daughters of Penelope Grand Lodge elected based on her desire to help the Junior Auxiliary Order. Grand Lodge positions are elected annually at the AHEPA Supreme Convention.
Current Grand Lodge
Grand President Marianthe Kolokithas
Marianthe Kolokithas is originally from Travelers Rest, SC but is
currently living in Charleston, SC. She's been a member of the Maids of
Athena since she was 16, and has served as Chapter President, Delphis,
District Contact, Grand Governor, Grand Treasurer, and Grand Vice
President of the Maids of Athena before having been elected Grand
President. She graduated from the College of Charleston in 2008 with
degrees in Business Administration and Hospitality & Tourism and
immediately after was hired as the assistant advertising director for
Atlas Worldwide in Charleston. In this position she was introduced to
many aspects of the film industry and had the opportunity to work with
the television show Eye of an Eye starring Extreme Akim, eventually
earning a speaking role. Since then, Marianthe has assisted on the film
Republic of Pete (and even has her own IMDB page!) and become a
paralegal at the Anastopoulo Law Firm, LLC in Charleston. She is
currently studying law at the Charleston School of Law in hopes of
becoming an attorney. She is also a liaison officer to Districts 1, 6,
25, and 27.
Grand Secretary Constantina Yannitsos
Constantina Yannitsos has
been a member of the Maids of Athena Cassandra Hera Chapter #185 in
Calgary, Alberta, Canada since 2004. She has served as Chapter
Secretary, and was Chapter President for three years. This is her second
year on Grand Lodge, previously serving as Grand Governor. She is
currently in her fourth year of University, getting her BA in
psychology. After she has completed her BA, she will go on to get her
Masters of Education, and become a special education teacher.
Constantina loves shopping, travelling and hockey, and is a diehard
Calgary Flames fan. One of the greatest things about the Maids of Athena
is all of the opportunities it has given her, and being able to meet
all of the great people involved in the Maids of Athena and Sons of
Pericles across Canada and the United States. Constantina currently
serves as the Grand Lodge Liaison officer to Districts 12, 15, 20, 21
and 22.
Grand Governor Deanna Socaris
Deanna Socaris has been a member of the Maids of Athena Sophia Chapter #48 in Albany, New York since 2002. She has served as Chapter Messenger, Chapter Secretary, Chapter Vice President, and was Chapter President for the past two years. She graduated from Siena College in May 2011 with a BS in Accounting and a BS in Business Management with a minor in Information Systems. She is currently attending Union Graduate College where she plans to get her Masters of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. Deanna loves travelling, the beach, her puppy Griffey and the New York Yankees. The Maids of Athena has allowed to her to grow as an individual and has introduced her to strangers that have become family. She currently serves as the Grand Lodge liaison officer to districts 3, 4, 9, 14, 16, 23.
| Grand Vice President Angela Armstrong
Angela Armstrong has been a member of Maids of Athena
since 2003 in the Dyname Ke Doxa Chapter #270 of Chandler, Arizona. She
has served such positions as Chapter Secretary, Chapter President, Grand
Governor, and Grand Treasurer. She currently holds the position of
Grand Vice President on the Maids of Athena Grand Lodge. She is an
English Literature major at Arizona State University with future plans
to obtain a Master’s degree in Library and Informational Sciences. Some
of her hobbies include reading, writing, traveling, Greek dancing and
watching way too many movies! Angela loves the Maids of Athena because
it has allowed her the opportunity to travel to many cool places and
create life long friendships all across the U.S. and Canada! Angela is
the Grand Lodge liaison officer to Districts 8, 17, 19, 24, and 26.
Grand Treasurer Diane Simeon
A member and Past President of Muses Chapter 22 in Washington, DC, Diane is one of the newest additions to the Maids of Athena Grand Lodge. She is currently a sophomore at Elon University, where she is on the Club Rugby team, and where she serves as president of the Club Sports Council. She currently serves as a liaison officer to Maids of Athena Districts 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 and 12. Her role model in life is Stephanie Maniatis, a Past Grand President of the Maids of Athena.
